On Sunday 2nd April 2017, Nigerian-born singer, Mo Adeniran was named the winner of The Voice UK after he wowed the audience with an amazing rendition of ‘Unsteady.’

The 21-year-old hotel worker was stunned as host Emma Willis announced that he had been voted the winner of the 2017 series.

Adeniran previous performances of Paolo Nutini’s Iron Sky had landed him the spot of the favourites of the judges and at the grand finale, he beat fellow contestants Michelle John, Jamie Miller and runners-up Into The Ark.

However, the singer admitted that the other contestants did great all through the competition. John, from coach Will.I.Am’s team, was knocked out during Saturday night’s programme after losing out in the public vote.

Jennifer Hudson’s contestant Jamie Miller fell by the wayside during Sunday night’s show, with his rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You not proving to be enough to carry him into the final round.

Immediately Emma Willis broke the news that Jamie Miller would not be taking home a record contract, an unknown man rushed onto the stage to protest.

The man was holding a piece of card, which he held above his head, before security rushed on and knocked him off the set. Emma brushed over the incident as she continued with show and thanked Jamie for being a part of the competition.
