Ace Comedian Opens Up On His Harrowing Near Death Experience With Brain Tumors

Ace comedian Julius Agwu who had a tough 2016, has recounted his ordeal with brain tumors disclosing that it was a very emotional time for his family.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the condition in an exclusive interview with Inspaya TV, Agwu opens up on how he pulled through, ascribing his miraculous survival to God.

Julius Agwu reveals that it was discovered he had three tumors in his brain with one of them the size of a golf ball, but thankfully, with the help of amazing doctors and the support of his family, he had a successful brain surgery.

The comedian disclosed that he almost committed suicide and was already trying to put things in place for his wife in the worst case scenario of his demise.

“I started looking for my property documents to give to my wife. One day when they were not home, I almost committed suicide,” Julius stated.

In the video interview which also featured his wife, Ebere and elder sister, Theresa Agwu, his wife said:

“The first seizure, I was actually in the room with him when it started. He was gasping for air, so it was almost like every breath he took was going to be his last.

“I was talking to him and all of a sudden he is looking up. I called the doctor on our way to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, the seizure came again, and I started praying.”

It was revealed that after several seizures, the comic actor stopped moving and everyone thought he was dead. “I remember, my father who died in 2002 telling me to go back,” Agwu said.

Ebiere and Theresa added that Julius suddenly started moving again after the doctor had said they should move him to the morgue. His wife said the thought of being a widow engulfed her:

“It got to a point that everything just stopped, I began thinking, so I will be a widow, when I get back home, what do I tell my kids, what do I tell everyone at home when I get back?

“Those thoughts kept coming, I began to pray, and even the doctor started praying with me, but after a while, Julius who couldn’t move his body, moved his hands and I was shocked,” Ebiere said.

Agwu underwent a successful surgery to remove the tumors at the Park Plaza Hospital, Houston, America in 2015. Watch the video below:

After the surgery, the comedian decided to drop a thanksgiving song titled Second Chance and has also vowed to use all his platforms to glorify God. He has since recovered and assured his fans that he is hale and hearty.

Last month on March 13th, Nigerian actresses Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha, Ufuoma Mcdermott and comedian Funny Bone hung out with Julius Agwu and his wife in their home to celebrate the comedian’s life.
