As the 2017 Big Brother Naija reality TV show slowly crawls to an end, more celebrities have continued to take sides with their favourite contestant. In addition to other celebrities who have been campaigning for housemate Efe, Nigeria’s popular comedian, Basketmouth, has also chosen to throw his weight behind him.
Yesterday, April 4, the award-winning stand-up comedian took to his Instagram to reveal that Efe was his choice for the N25 million ultimate price.

As expected Basketmouth’s choice of Efe did not go down well with one of his followers who called him out for investing his time, emotions and money in the housemate who he says “can’t speak good English” and lacked “talent”.
Basketmouth who hardly engages fans on social media didn’t take it lightly as he finished him off. “You’re a cheap rat poison! What’s your own talent? Hating?” he fired back.
The troll immediately deleted his comment shortly after but that did not save him from the wrath of other commenters jumped on the post to tear him to shreds for his unguarded comment.
It is obviously a tensed week for many Nigerians who are faithful followers of the #BBNaija show considering the fact that this is the final week before the emergence of the winner. Everyone wants to see to it that his/her chosen housemate wins and anyone who pitches his tent with a different housemate becomes a sworn enemy.
Probably because of the huge hype, many more people have developed interest and only recently began to catch up with the TV show which was earlier branded ‘immoral’.
Now, folks are aggressively canvassing for votes on behalf of their favourite housemates. While some chose their faves based on their skills – like Bisola who is an amazing actress, others do this because a particular housemate entertained viewers.

Efe has been tagged the ‘realest’ for his performance at the house. He gained street credibility because he seemingly doesn’t ‘pretend’ as folks have accused other housemates of, and often communicates in the language many Nigerians grew up knowing –pidgin English.
And Basketmouth is not only pitching his tent behind his housemate; he is also defending Efe from trolls.
Besides Basketmouth, other celebrities who have shown support for Efe include popular Yoruba/Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, who at a point in the game, pleaded with Nigerian via her twitter handle to vote and save him for eviction.
The disqualified ex-Housemate, Kemen, is certainly on the side of the ‘Warri guy’ too as he was seen posing for a picture with a T-shirt designed for a pro-Efe campaign.
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Kcee also disclosed his support for Big Brother Naija Housemate, Efe after he took to his Instagram page to campaign for him. Fathia Balogun, a Nigerian Actress, Filmmaker, Producer, and Director supports Efe because they both came out from Delta state, Warri.
In her campaign to support Efe, she wrote: “I’m a huge fan, so I will not criticize Big Brother. I like Efe Because Efe is Warri and I’m Warri, So Warri go Stand For Warri”.
Annie Idibia, actress and wife to music star Tuface, is equally out campaigning for Efe. She declared her support for the ‘street representative’ via her IG page, rooting his victory.
