Pepsi Ad: Pepsi Pulls Down Controversial Kendall Jenner Advert After Severe Backlash
Soft drink maker, Pepsi has reportedly pulled down an advert they did featuring Kendall Jenner.
Pepsi has issued an apology and announced that they’re pulling the controversial commercial from the airwaves after it received major backlash.
A statement from the company, reportedly said:
“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding.
“Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue.

“We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
The new Pepsi Ad featuring Kendall Jenner received major backlash from the public on social media.
People have accused the company of exploiting the Black Lives Matter movement.
The advert which lasts for about two-and-a-half minutes shows Kendall ending a multi-racial protest by simply handing a can of Pepsi to a police officer.
According to the company, the project, which the company described as a “short film” was intended to trivialize protest culture.
The Pepsi Ad was widely panned for appropriating protest culture and trivializing unrest for the purpose of selling a product.
In the commercial, Kendall Jenner removes her makeup and wig at a photo shoot and throws it at an assistant.
Backlash Hits Pepsi and Kendall Over Controversial Pepsi Ad
She then joins the crowd of demonstrators for an unspecified movement.
Kendall then gives the officer the Pepsi can with the crowd erupting in cheers.
The Pepsi Ad which was revealed on Tuesday, April 4, has received severe backlash on social media.
Twitter timelines have been flooded with comments backlashing and mocking both Pepsi and Jenner.

Pepsi on releasing the ad initially said:
“This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey.”
