Frantic police search for ‘borrowed’ missing baby Olwethu

Police are searching for nine-month-old Olwethu Gift Nojahi who was abducted from his home in Mt Moriah in Durban last week.

Olwethu had been “borrowed” by one his mother’s friends.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala made an appeal for information on Wednesday.

“Last week the mother of the baby was at her place of residence when her friend Zanele Mchunu‚ 17‚ came to her house. She asked to borrow Olwethu since she was going to a mall. They both went away and never returned‚” Gwala said.

Olwethu was last seen wearing a white vest and white shorts.

“Zanele Mchunu was last seen wearing a green pair of jeans and a multi-coloured shirt. Police and the parents are worried about the safety of the child‚” she added.
