Radio mogul Tbo Touch has spent R28 million on relaunched his online radio station, which has a new name: Touch HD.
Touch Central was launched at the end of August last year with the promise to revolutionise online radio.
The former Metro FM DJ promised innovation and on Thursday announced that he had relaunched the station to Touch HD as he prepares to make major changes to its line-up and the platforms it is broadcast on.
“Digital radio lends itself the opportunity of being disruptive through innovation. The new station is being true to its roots, vision and mission of innovation and disruption through the changes being introduced,” Touch said.
He will announce further changes to the station at an event later this month but has already hinted at the launch of a TV channel later this year.
“I am working some people who we will travel to Los Angeles for the show and for some partnerships there. On the channel we will have three big local shows. I want to shoot a show that will give excellent actors and actresses that platform to show off their talent,” Touch told Drum in an interview this week.
The media mogul revealed to listeners last week that the total cost of the relaunch would be around R28 million.
