The emotion of his maiden Premier League start was all too much for the youngster, but it was Fabian Delph who was left to suffer!
A full Premier League debut is a stressful moment for any professional football player, and Gabriel Jesus has shown himself to be no exception.
While he coped admirably in his first complete top-flight game for Manchester City since making a move from Brazilian champions Palmeiras in January, a candid moment post-match showed the nerves got to him in other ways!
Jesus chipped in with a goal and an assist in his maiden start as City steamrollered West Ham United, as Pep Guardiola’s men enjoyed a welcome return to form.
But the 4-0 victory took its toll on the youngster’s digestive system, as he admitted to Fernandinho in remarks picked up by microphones in Portuguese.
“I just died man, I’m done. I just farted, right over there on [Fabian] Delph,” he said to his Brazilian team-mate at the final whistle.
Let’s hope Delph doesn’t hold it against the teenager, as Wednesday’s display hinted at the forming of a rather potent attacking line-up for the Citizens.
