Jose Mourinho makes seven changes to the side which progress in the Europa League on Thursday
Jose Mourinho has handed Marcus Rashford a starting spot for Manchester United’s trip to Middlesbrough on Sunday, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial are only on the bench despite the latter’s return from injury.
Those changes are among a total of seven made by the Portuguese following Thursday’s 1-0 Europa League win over FC Rostov.
United are set to continue with the three-man defence they have used in their last three fixtures, with Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling joined by Phil Jones in place of Marcus Rojo. David de Gea returns for Sergio Romero in goal, while Ashley Young looks likely to start from the left wing-back slot after replacing Ashley Young.

Rashford will start in the lead striker’s position, deputising for the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini are starters in place of the absent Ander Herrera (banned) and Paul Pogba (injured).
Finally, Mkhitaryan’s spot is taken by Jesse Lingard, with Juan Mata continuing as the other supporting attacker following his winner in midweek.
