The Turkey international has once again been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League, but his representative says no contact has been made
Arsenal have made no approach for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, insists the Turkey international’s agent Ahmet Bulut.
The 30-year-old playmaker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Several English clubs were reported to be monitoring his situation prior to a 2015 switch from Atletico Madrid to Barca.
‘Wenger too arrogant for his own good’
Arsenal have figured prominently in such speculation, and a fresh round of rumours have put the Gunners back in the mix, with a £25 million approach when the transfer window re-opens this summer has been mooted.
With Mesut Ozil’s long-term future at Emirates Stadium up in the air, Arsenal are said to see Arda as a natural replacement.
His representative has, however, moved quickly to point out that no formal offers have been tabled.
Bulut told ESPN FC: “There is currently no offer, there is nothing to speak of right now.
Isco rubbishes Barcelona rumours
“I have not been contacted by Arsenal. As I said before, he is happy at Barcelona and has three years left on his contract.”
Arda faces fierce competition for places at Barcelona, but he has made 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
Those outings have delivered 13 goals, including hat-tricks against Borussia Monchengladbach and Hercules in Champions League and Copa del Rey contests.
