The Burnley man is one of the Premier League’s highest-rated young defenders, and with precious few resources at the back Mourinho has set a £24 million deal as a priority this summer.
ZLATAN RULES OUT MLS MOVE
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not contemplating a move to Major League Soccer and is determined to stay at Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
Ibra is currently a long-term injury absence at Old Trafford after rupturing his cruciate ligaments, and will be out of contract in June.
Despite reports linking him to MLS, the veteran striker is training non-stop in order to return at full strength towards the end of 2017 and wants to take up a one-year contract extension.

An internal dispute at Everton over a possible bid for Wayne Rooney could scupper his hopes of returning to his boyhood club, according to the Mirror.

Benfica’s Victor Lindelof is set to be the centre of a fierce bidding war this summer between two Champions League contenders, according to the Mirror.

Premier League side Stoke City are launching a shock bid for Manchester United record goalscorer Wayne Rooney, according to the Daily Mirror .
The striker’s high wages would be funded by the club’s sponsorship with Bet365 and the move has been masterminded by former Old Trafford forward Mark Hughes, who now manages Stoke City.
Rooney has already turned down a January move to China and is widely expected to be leaving Man Utd this summer.
