The Belgium international was unable to select any of his club colleagues, but did find room in his side for Danny Rose and Alexis Sanchez
Kevin De Bruyne has included reported Manchester City transfer targets Alexis Sanchez, Virgil van Dijk and Danny Rose in his Team of the Season.
The Belgium international was barred by Sport Bible from picking any of his club colleagues when piecing together his selection for the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
With the net cast a little wider, De Bruyne was happy to talk up the talents of those believed to be on Pep Guardiola’s summer wish list.
Why everybody wants Van Dijk
Arsenal forward Sanchez is generating plenty of speculation as he enters the final 12 months of his current contract, with City among those in the hunt for the Chilean – as revealed by Goal in May.
De Bruyne admits that he voted for the Gunners star as his Player of the Year – having seen him net 30 times in all competitions – and would “definitely” like him at the Etihad Stadium.
He has also billed Southampton defender Van Dijk as “very, very good”.
The Netherlands international is being courted by a number of Premier League heavyweights, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United also credited with holding an interest.
The Saints, though, are reported to be looking for around £70 million for their star centre-half.
It remains to be seen whether City will be prepared to dig that deep during the summer window, and whether they turn their attention back to Tottenham full-back Rose.
He is another to have caught De Bruyne’s eye, and Guardiola is in the market for reinforcements across his back line.
Man City closing in on Dani Alves deal
With City having released a number of their ageing stars, England international Rose is among those under consideration to come in at left-back.
There are, however, other options in the mix, including Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy.
That could result in Rose staying put alongside a number of other Spurs stars to have made De Bruyne’s side – including Golden Boot winner Harry Kane and reported Barcelona target Christian Eriksen.
