Band member 2-D and the defender came together in a short video showcasing the Blues’ Nike home shirt for the upcoming season
When it comes to models, it appears Chelsea are fans of the virtual variety.
The club’s official Twitter account released a short video showing 2-D from Gorillaz getting into Stamford Bridge and the Chelsea dressing room. There he finds the new 2017-18 home shirt… and defender David Luiz.

However, Luiz didn’t seem to mind, as the animated character and the defender showed off the new shirt together posing for photos in the short video. The Blues are wearing Nike kits for the first time ever this season.

Earlier Saturday, Chelsea debuted their home kit for the upcoming season using Alex Hunter, the fictional character from The Journey gameplay mode of EA Sports’ FIFA series.
Luiz will get the chance show off the home blues with his actual team-mates when they open their Premier League title defence at Stamford Bridge on August 12 against Burnley.
