ISO boss’ son back in court over girlfriend’s murder


KAMPALA. The son of Internal Security Organisation Director General Col (retired) Frank Bagyenda Kaka will appear in court today for the mention of his murder case.
Mr Brian Bagyenda, who is facing a charge of murder of his 22-year-old university girlfriend, is expected to appear before Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s court.

Bagyenda, 29, a pharmacist, will appear together with two co-accused Innocent Bainomugisha (24), a cleaner and Vincent Rwahwire (28), a casual labourer.
The prosecution states that on January 4, 2016, at Njobe Road in Nakawa.

Division, Kampala, Bagyenda with two accomplices, murdered his girlfriend Enid Twijukye, a student of International Relations at Ndejje University, whose body was dumped in Seeta in Mukono District.
The suspects are represented by Fred Erisata.

On January 18, police arrested Bagyenda and two others after telephone printouts from a mobile phone of the deceased showed that he was the last person she frequently called before she disappeared mysteriously from her home in Namugongo, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District where she lived with her sister. On the eve of the fateful day, she left home and told her sister she was going to visit someone in Bweyogerere.
The following day the deceased’s phone went off, prompting her mother Esther Mirembe Nkoko to contact her other daughters about her whereabouts.
Police recovered Twijukye’s decomposing body in Namanve forest, 11km away from the murder scene after the family had reported her as missing person. At the time of death, Twijukye was working at Capital Shoppers in Ntinda and was due for graduation this year.
She was the fourth born in a family of six in Kazo, Kiruhura District.
