Joost’s death a ‘colossal loss’ for the nation‚ says PAC

The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) has paid tribute to rugby great Joost van der Westhuizen who died on Monday‚ describing his death as a “colossal loss” to the nation “if not the entire globe”.
The party expressed its “deepest” condolences to the family and friends of the former Springbok captain and scrumhalf who succumbed to a form of motor neuron disease as well as the sports fraternity‚ saying it had “always priotised him in our prayers”.
“We are saying to his family that we will be with them during this difficult phase‚ we know that the passing of this ‘Son of the soil’ have deeply wounded your hearts. We are grateful for having borrowed us your son to make a tremendous contribution not only to sports but to the entire humanity. Sports is the great force to advance social cohesion which have been a crises in our country.
“Sports fraternity will never forget the role played by Mr Joost in the fraternity. He have broke records which are memorable not only to us but to his counterparts. We salute him for that‚” the PAC said in a statement.
