Why We MUST Forgive Our Spouses for Cheating

Gospel singer Linet Munyali aka Size 8 has elicited an interesting debate on matters relationships and forgiving cheating spouses.

In one of her more popular Youtube videos, the singer teaches and advises on the importance of forgiveness.

According to Size 8, we are all sinners and should be prepared to forgive people and our spouses for their transgressions.

“So when your spouse cheats, remember you cheat on God all the time but God forgives you. So forgive your spouse,” says Size 8.

“And whoever says they cannot forgive, that is a root of pride,” she said. “Who tells you cannot do that?”

Size 8, who has been married to TV host and spinmaster DJ Mo for five years, advises her fans that cheating shouldn’t be allowed in marriages but in case it happens, couples should find a way to get past it.

“Maybe you are a wife or a husband and your spouse cheated on you and you are like, ‘oh god mimi siwezi kucheat, he is horrible or she is horrible’. The only thing that makes you not cheat is grace. So, forgive,” she says.

“In a marriage where there is forgiveness, you enjoy each other’s. You are also able to capitalize on the good stuff.

But kama munaboil na maissues, issues all the time you can never enjoy. Even when the other person is being nice you cannot notice.”

She went ahead to preach: “We wear the righteousness of christ, so lazima you forgive. And whoever says they cannot forgive, that is a root of pride. Who tells you cannot do that?

The only reason that makes you not do what the other person is doing is the grace of god. It is by grace we don’t sin. Don’t sit there, ujiangalie [saying] ‘oh please!!!’.”
