The Monaco forward has caught the attention of some of the world’s biggest clubs with his mercurial performances in Ligue 1 this season; Mbappe has scored 19 goals in 32 games, and also provided 11 assists.

He was subsequently drafted into the France squad to face Luxembourg on Saturday, and made his debut at the age of 18 years and 95 days, becoming the youngest player to win a cap since Maryan Wisnieski 62 years ago; the latter playing at the age of 18 years and 61 days.

Mbappe has been heavily linked with the Red Devils over the last few weeks, with reports suggesting that Jose Mourinho’s side had a staggering £96 million bid rejected for the teenager.

Fabinho, however, claimed on Saturday that his team-mate will eventually end up in Spain, telling Brazilian outlet Chuteria FC: “We know that sooner or later he will end up at Real Madrid, Barcelona or a club of that calibre.

“But so long as he is still with us, we are going to profit from that!”
