Police identified those who were travelling with Tareq as Abdul Rahman Salem 20, Majahed Salem 23, Abdullah Mohammed 20, a tour guide, Umar Kawangala Wasswa from Kinaawa in Wakiso district and their driver, Ali Bulungu a resident of Nansana.

An eye witness told this reporter that: “The Arabs and a Global bus were trying to overtake a commuter taxi in a single lane, but when the tourist driver braked instantly after realizing that another car was coming in the opposite direction, he lost control and over turned several times before colliding with a corona.”

The injured have been taken to Nkozi Hospital to receive first aid treatment.

Katonga region police Spokesman Phillip Mukasa attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving.

“The accident was caused by careless driving by the two vehicles that we were trying to overtake, over speeding and lack of discipline,” he said.

Mr Bulungu said the tourists jetted in the country on Friday.
