Although the Israeli government debunked a major fact that Britney’s show may cause fewer people to come out and vote, thereby causing a misplacement of priority, they insisted that the major reason for the postponement was security.

This will be the first time the 35-year-old entertainer will be performing in Israel since after her first world tour in 2011.

Britney Spears: Israel Postpones Election Because Of The Singer's Concert

The Labor Party spokesman Liron Zach said:

“We delayed the vote one day, to July 4. We couldn’t hire enough security for the election because of the Britney Spears concert on July 3.

“There would also be a lot of traffic and roadblocks that would make it hard for the vote to go ahead.

“We aren’t concerned about voters favoring Spears over the party. The two main concerns are security and traffic.”
