France vs England team news: Mbappe and Giroud both start as Trippier makes Three Lions debut

Monaco’s teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe has been handed a starting role for France in their friendly date with England.

The 18-year-old earns just his fourth cap for his country, having enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2016-17 which has seen him spark interest from the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.

There are plenty of familiar faces to Premier League audiences alongside him, with Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris joined in the side by Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Leicester’s N’Golo Kante and Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud.

For England, Gareth Southgate has handed a senior debut to Spurs full-back Kieran Trippier.

Burnley’s Tom Heaton starts between the sticks, with Stoke City’s Jack Butland set to replace him for the second half.

Harry Kane captains the Three Lions for a second game in a row, having snatched a late leveller in a 2018 World Cup qualifier with Scotland on Saturday.
