The former Hammers midfielder will compete in Europe’s premier club competition next season after signing a five-year deal at the Bundesliga club
West Ham have sold Havard Nordtveit to Hoffenheim, the club have confirmed.
Ronaldo and Mou’s sour relationship
Nordtveit joined the Hammers from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer, but struggled to make an impression in the Premier League in 2016-17.
A versatile midfielder, Slaven Bilic often appeared unsure as to how best to utilise the 26-year-old, as he was deployed as a defensive midfielder, and a right-back.
He completed 90 minutes just eight times in the top-flight, and also featured for the club’s Under-23 side.
He has now signed a five-year contract at Hoffenheim, who have qualified for the play-off round of the Champions League, and has described his time in England as “less than ideal”.
“I obviously know the Bundesliga very well from my years at Gladbach and I’m convinced I will be able to make the impact that TSG are hoping for,” he told the German club’s official website.

Bilic, meanwhile, has placed on record his good wishes for Nordtveit.
“I would like to thank Havard for his commitment and hard work last season. He is an excellent professional and we wish him all the very best at Hoffenheim,” he added.
