Raila Odinga’s Philosophy is Threats, Intimidation and Violence

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has dismissed Raila Odinga’s “desperate attempt to deny what he said in Kajiado.”

According to Duale, the NASA flagbearer’s utterances have nothing to do with resolving the so-called land question in the country.

In a statement released on Monday, Duale alleges that “Raila’s philosophy is threats, intimidation, and violence.”

Duale said “no amount of blood is worth Odinga’s thirst for power” as he called on Kenyans to join together against Odinga’s monstrous philosophy.

Raila was quoted telling the Maasai community not to sell their ancestral territory to “outsiders”. His remarks sparked outrage from Jubilee leaders who called upon the NCIC and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to probe Raila for incitement.

But Duale in his statement said the opposition chief should be held responsible, saying his remarks amounted to hate speech.

“Odinga’s utterances have nothing to do with resolving the so-called land question in the country that he purports to champion. Odinga simply called on the Maasai community to exclude and evict ‘outsiders’ from Kajiado County,” said Duale.

Raila Odinga is on trial again courtesy of Article 39 and 40 of the Constitution.

All we ask him to do is to confine himself to this section and stop his desperate attempt to deny what he said in Kajiado.

For the record and to jog his memory this is what he said:

Odinga’s utterances have nothing to do with resolving the so-called land question in the country that he purports to champion.

Odinga simply called on the Maasai community to exclude and evict ‘outsiders’ from Kajiado County.

When taken to task, Odinga contrived long, expansive and diversionary expositions that do nothing to reassure Kenyans that Odinga is not advocating ethnic balkanization in the Republic.

It is clear that for Odinga, community land rights, historical injustices and devolution are only palatable synonyms for tribal exclusion, 41 versus 1, ethnic clashes and political violence.

It is also clear that the entire NASA cheering leadership subscribe to Odinga’s dangerous political philosophy.

NASA is at war with the ideas of a unified Republic, national unity, the right of Kenyans to own property, live and work in every part of Kenya.
To be precise, Article 39 of the Constitution talks of the rights of movement and residence of persons in Kenya.

Article 40 states: Protection of right to property
(1) Subject to Article 65, every person has the right, either individually or in association with others, to acquire and own property-
(a) of any description; and
(b) in any part of Kenya.

These are foundational principles at the heart of our constitutional order and political dispensation.

Leadership requires candidates to mobilise by appealing to our better selves, and not incite base violent impulses.

Odinga is at war with Kenya.

We urge Kenyans to join together and ensure that we will still have our kin, neighbour, friends, communities and nation and that we are in no danger of losing any to Odinga’s monstrous philosophy.

No amount of blood is worth Odinga’s thirst for power.

Leader of Majority, National Assembly
