Bishop  Kaggwa hails Mutagamba – Daily Monitor

Masaka Diocese Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa has told legislators to improve their economic status and that of their constituencies.

Bishop Kaggwa was on Wednesday speaking to mourners who attended the burial of the former Tourism Minister Maria Lubega Mutagamba at Gamba village, Kakuuto Sub County in Rakai  District. Mutagamba died last Saturday.

Bishop Kaggwa said many legislators die without even leaving any asset for themselves making people wonder whether they received salaries or not.

“We have buried many legislators but the paths heading to their residencies are bushy, you need to develop your home areas other than boasting around like most of you,” Bishop Kaggwa said.

He also advised MPs to copy the self-respect the late Mutagamba had.

The Minister for Microfinance and the MP for Kyotera County, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo,  condemned people who don’t appreciate what legislators do for them. The MP said they do a lot of work for their voters which exposes them to dangerous diseases.

“We do a lot for you but you never appreciate us. You should stop the habit of hoping that have to give every one money,” he said.
